Scrapbook Cafe's Saturday Night Challenge

The challenge this week was to make a card using a store bought card that someone else gave to you as your inspiration. The card I chose was one that I received from my friend at my bridal shower:

And this is the card that I came up with. I cut a piece of Bazzill cardstock into a 4 x 12 strip. I scored it to make a tri-fold and cut a square window with my trimmer. I stamped the birds, the clouds, the grass and the flower and made the sun out of Pink Paislee decorative edge paper from the Office Lingo Line. The background paper is also from this line. After cutting out and chalking my stamped images, I adhered them to the background paper and slipped it into a cellophane envelope. I filled the envelope with glitter and clear confetti hearts and adhered it to the backside of the window opening of the card. One flap of the tri-fold card folds over the cellophane to "hide" the back and secure it all.

Thanks for the challenge Shelia, I had fun with it!!!!

Scrapbook Cafe Saturday Night Challenge

The Challenge this week was to do a layout using spots and dots and circles and such.....spotted, dotted ribbons or other circular embellishments. I chose a patterned paper by American Crafts with some artsy looking circles on it (Metropolitan Line). I also used a polka-dotted chipboard "m", assorted polka-dotted ribbon, a round journaling jotter by Luxe Designs, and some epoxy dot stickers, along with a polka-dotted MM big brad.

Journaling around the border reads: Two years old! That's how old you were when you decided you were the boss! You were very confident in the fact that you did not want to take a bath...which is quite unusual since you normally run to the tub as fast as your naked little hiney will take you! Once you got in, you were happy as could be...until it was time to get out! That began another fight which mommy ultimately won! P.S. I love this picture of you-it reminds me of Papa Smurf!

As usual, I had lots of fun with Pat's challenge....thanks for looking!

Scrapbook Cafe Saturday Night Challenge!

This week the challenge was to make a card or layout using flock. I was excited about this because I bought the Doodlebug Assorted Flock a couple of weeks ago at the Scrapbook Cafe and I hadn't tried it yet, so now was the time! I had some fun with it and will definitely be experimenting more with it! I have recently been visiting Michelle Clement's blog (Pink Paislee designer), she is very talented, I just love her work and her blog is very cool! So, with that said, my card is a lift of a card I saw on her blog. I made a template out of the tree and branches and then cut my owl out of the Sizzix die I picked up last weekend at the SB Cafe, too cute! I am so into the owl/bird trend : ) ! ! ! So fun! I cut the owl apart and flocked the brown and yellow separately...I tried at first keeping it all together but the flock colors got mixed together...icky! I used stickles for the owls beak and on the clouds. The pp is Sassafrass Lass, one of my faves. I am going to send this card to my good friend Nicole, she is awesome and has been so supportive of me during this past year through a really difficult time. What would we do without girlfriends?!?!

Thanks for stopping by : )

Sassafrass Lass-oops!

I just realized I titled my last post Pink Paislee but it was Sassafrass Lass...whew, it's been a rough week, thank goodness for long weekends. Starting tomorrow @ 2pm when the office closes for the holiday weekend, nothing but beach, family, fun (and hopefully a little scrapbooking in between)!!! My sister will be home from WV, yay!!! This will be the last time I see her before she delivers my new niece or nephew at the end of August. I can't wait to see her and her family!!!!
